Awkwafina
Awkwafina was an American actor and musician who started her career through innovative raps which addressed the issues of sexuality and race with a a boldly comic perspective. She then expanded into Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical journey as a trumpet player. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the child of Chinese immigrants and Koreans. In the following years, she took up hip-hop and classical training. In college, she studied journalism and women's studies. Then, she even had a short time studying Mandarin at the University of Beijing. It wasn't until she graduated that her focus shift to music. The track My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in 2012. It eventually made it in her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. It also contained popular hits that went viral, such as body-positive Queef or the winking city tour the city of New York Bitche$. The track that was second on the album linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in 2015, which was a different idea. A musician and author was in her portfolio, she decided to determined to pursue acting in a third project. Along with early series like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in movies such as Neighbors to Storks. The actress made headlines in 2018 with a few notable films like Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. Then in June, she launched the EP In Fina We Trust.
